Requirements of a „Land der Hildegard“ Host

In order to become a quality host in the „Land der Hildegard“, the accommodation establishment must fulfil the following criteria. The award is valid for a period of three years. An examination is executed by a member of the local Tourist Board.

1. Classification Hosts in the „Land der Hildegard“ must present a DEHOGA (Hotels) or DTV classification (inns, guesthouses).

2. TKN / Deskline Listing The accommodation establishment participates in the German Tourism Communications Network (TKN) / Deskline.

3. Presentation of the Theme The theme „Land der Hildegard“ or Hildegard of Bingen must be a focus of the hotel and the guest must have the opportunity to obtain information about the places of Hildegard as well as her and her history in the hotel.

4. Quality of Advice The personnel should be able to inform about the most important sights, rough details about distances and important stages / contents of Hildegard Bingen’s life.

5. Internet Presentation On the internet site of the hotel, Hildegard of Bingen should also be a topic and a link to the internet site „Land der Hildegard“ should also be established.

6. Theme-related Food Cooking in accordance with Hildegard – with our „Land der Hildegard“ hosts you can also taste the great woman of the Middle Ages. Hotels must offer at least one meal in accordance with Hildegard, guesthouses and inns set up a „Hildegard“ corner for breakfast.

7. Guest Feedback The guests has to be offered a platform where they can communicate their impressions and comments about the project „Land der Hildegard“.
